Hi Carol, Not been on the forum over the past few days and have just caught up with your news. Well, I don't see why Stewart can't come and watch your OP, don't think he'll be happy with just watching a film, and I'm sure he'd love to know what he's knows what he's letting himself in for Hope all goes well on Thursday and will be thinking of you, love, Barbara XXXXXX

I'm going to TAU (Theatres' Admissions Unit) first, need to be there by 7am. tomorrow morning - Mike's dropping me off on his way in to work. After the op, when I'm out of recovery, I'll go to the same ward as before, C8 and I shall be putting in a request early on for bed 18 or 19 - by the window!! It's not what you know, but who you know! Should be interesting, one of my son's grandfather's having his hip replaced today, so no doubt I'll see familiar faces on the ward. It's a mixed ward, but same sex in each room - shame! Stewart, you know you'd be more than welcome to come and watch and I wouldn't charge you an entrance fee. Carol

I don't believe it......received a text from a woman I met in hospital last Easter - she fell from the loft and broke both heels and ankles. We've kept in touch since. She's now back on C8, after surgery this am. to remove screws from her foot and a washout treatment, as they think she has an infection - aargh! Spoke to her on the phone at lunchtime and told her to forewarn the staff that I'll be back too tomorrow. Hopefully we can persuade the staff to put us side by side - I anticipate pandemonium will ensue! Carol

I'm home! Came out of hospital last night. Op went well and I'm very pleased with the result - the best one to date. Don't need painkillers, walking well on gutter crutches, mobility excellent and both legs the same length - at last I can wear different footwear! Carol

Thank you! Actually Jean, talking of Trapeze Group, I shared a ward with a trapeze artist ....... a 34 year old Romanian woman and a 24 year old Brazillian dancer, both from the Romero Circus! The whole Troop were on their way to Italy, when one of their caravans was struck by a van whilst they were parked up in a layby changing a wheel. 50 vehicles were involved! They showed us their routines on You Tube. Maybe I could sell the tickets, or ice creams?! Carol

Dear Carol,
I am SO glad your operation went well and you're home. How are you feeling now? How is the other hip coping?
Love,
Amanda

Thanks everyone! Amanda, my right hip is now 6 months old and coping very well. I have no pain in that hip at all and only a little op site soreness and bruising over my new left hip. I'm not taking any painkillers and can walk a little with one or no crutches, although I shouldn't for 6 weeks. I can't believe how easy this latest op went. I feel like I've only had a minor op. I felt able to come home Saturday, but had to wait to see my surgeon on Monday. My leg didn't feel heavy at all this time, it was easy getting out of bed for physio and already I can walk with a reasonable gait. Carol

Now listen, you - NO MORE WALKING WITHOUT CRUTCHES! You could fall and dislocate the hip! Don't want to nag, but this is a no-no for about 4 weeks. Take care Love Jeanx
